Wales Slate: local pride… worldwide reach…<\/strong><\/h2>\n

With a little over a week since UNESCO World Heritage Committee made their announcement; designating the Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales as a <\/em>World Heritage Site! <\/strong>…We are still smiling here!<\/p>\n

Da iawn – Well done.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Status allows\u00a0us to celebrate our contribution to the world and to recognise the important role slate continues to have in developing our communities for the future.<\/em><\/p>\n

The key driver for the nomination is to increase pride in our slate communities, regenerate our slate landscape from an economic and social perspective and to promote and celebrate the rich Welsh culture of our slate valleys.<\/em>

Inigo Jones is already celebrating 160 glorious\u00a0years in business<\/strong> this year\u00a0and this news comes as a delightful\u00a0bonus.<\/em><\/p>\n

We are\u00a0proud to be able to share with the wider public our own Slate heritage through our Great Slate Tour<\/a> and our Slate products<\/a> that we Lovingly Make here on site\u00a0by hand.<\/p>\n

Open Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm, tours commence daily.\u00a0 This is what one recent visitor to Inigo Jones Slate Works had to say:<\/p>\n

The self-guided tour around the working slate factory is also both fascinating, interactive and hands-on for us adults and our kids alike.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We had already visited the National Slate Museum so had some background about the slate mining and quarrying history. In one sense, what we discovered here is a continuing discovery of Wales’ slate industry both past and present.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
